I think you should allow NTV to pay their bills. Who pays through advertisements? Not the guys on the streets. Not the guy at Gikosh making the next fuel efficient jiko. No. Its the CEOs of top companies like Safaricom, etc who must then be called upon to regurgitate to us what they feel is innovation. Get my drift? So Kachwanya, you and me need to devise a way of getting to know about the "real innovators" and encouraging them to do their best. There is alternative media now - the social media. Let's get our cameras and profile these people we feel are innovators and then post their works on Youtube. You never know. One day Wallace Kantai may just pick up the same after seeing it trending and change his mind about innovation. For now, let him pay the bills.

Re: 8 Topics to Avoid on twitter In Kenya

Yes, ethnicity is a big problem ..and now we have the big useless Mzalendo Kibunja watching online..

Re: 8 Topics to Avoid on twitter In Kenya

If you are not comfortable with my beliefs or opinions, please unfollow. My take is if GoK was really into getting people to work on this and benefit society....it would ensure that its sites are working for starters.....have uni students digitise docs like in Min of Lands and Courts....Police....things/places that everyone will indeed feel the effect of digitisation.

Then have internet costs lowered to the barest minimum........then leave Kenyans and techies to their own devices.......!! They will grow....and those that want cash, they can go to Youth or those SME biz loans.....

But this current set up is lots of mathogothanio and lost of cash will disappear...!!

Re: TECH:NITE – Fun Networking Event – Don’t miss out

Cool, coming your way

Re: TECH:NITE – Fun Networking Event – Don’t miss out | Kachwanya.com

Great. Most of those projects were formulated after the funding was announced. People sit in a restaurant opr cyber brainstorm on ow to win the money. They immediately download sample business plan, edit and there after they have winning project. Crazy Nairobian got more votes from the people than the other nominees..so rationally I don't think we can argue about that

Dennis Itumbi.. Again people voted for that blog. People have decided and it is against democratic principles to say otherwise

IddSalim and Kachwanya were involved in organizing the event.. For that it would have been a conflict of interest

Safaricom! Boss, Safaricom had no idea about the process. Nobody from Safaricom was involved in the process apart from checking whether their banners were at the final setting of the venue and attending the event. Jeff Koinange might not be the ideal according to some people for the award he was given but again, it was decided by people...

ISPs should not preach water and drink wine.

what is missing is end to end redundancy (a major FAIL!!!). the core network might have redundancy but the transmission doesn't, the transmission network might have redundancy but the backbone doesn't...

it's never impossible. it can be done. so all this can b attributed to laziness and politics.

Re: Yes TEAMs is down and it is time for Excuses and excuses from ISPs!!!

:) The headline of this article's sister reads, "Yes TEAMs is down and it is time for complaints and whining from Kenyans"

OPTION 1
Is the Internet really that important to you? If so, invest in a link with an ISP that goes the Satellite way so you can reduce the number of hops (and fiber cable which inexplicably gets cuts while we were promised it would be indestructible ... no? Oh wait ...) between you and that oh so glorious basket of porn.

OPTION 2
Is the Internet important to you but not important enough for you to want to invest in something that will most likely determine whether you close that important business deal or not? Invest in some cheap-ass Internet that goes for less than a DSTV connection (DSTV mwitu even).

MORAL OF THE STORY
1. Value doesn't come cheap.
2. Where value (more like quantity) comes cheap, you either put up or shut up.

Re: Diaspora giving up on Kenya?
